Listen, everyone, and understand. Over the next few months, a series of leaks will be brought to the attention of the head of the website Gematsu. He will not say anything for some time, because he himself will be skeptical of them. When a pair of newcomers are revealed over the course of the first few months of 2014, this leak will be brought to the forefront of the Smash community, and when three more are revealed next E3, it will overshadow everything.

The leak will hang ominously over the community and all it discusses. Speculation will be limited to what the leak has mentioned and questioning what it hasn't, stifling the creative freedom that makes speculation so great. The leak will be analyzed to the letter and its characters discussed and re-discussed, most notably the Fire Emblem character Chrom.

And...lines will be drawn, sides taken, and the community fractured. Extremists will pop up amongst the conflict, attacking those they disagree with and who they feel deserve to be ridiculed. These "zealots", especially on the pro-Gematsu side, will for a while be a black mark on the community that alienates those on the outside and strikes fear in those who do not agree with them, ruining our collective ability to discuss the games we enjoy so much.

When that time comes, remember this: Even though Brawl's final roster was leaked long before it was released, and even though to many it left much to be desired, know that history is not doomed to repeat itself. As bleak as things may begin to seem, and even if you begin to lose hope, know that the future is not already written. And if you find yourself assailed by Gematsu leak zealots for the grave sin of not thinking what they think...

Know that they are wrong.
