I'm going to try this one more time as my last thread about this died.
This thread is all about racing. Formula 1/Rally/A1, you name it. I want to start off with Formula 1 because that's the one I follow religiously. **** what a lot of changes in comparison with last year. New teams(Virgin F1, HRT), the comeback of Lotus F1, no more refuelling during pit stops, Schumi back again, Mercedes and McLaren parting. It's actually to much to name.
Last weekend was the GP of Bahrein with the first 'one-two' for Ferrari again. Even though I'm kinda anti-Ferrari, I do think it's nice to see Massa back again. Although Ferrari won it, it should've gone to Sebastian Vettel. Man he was completely owning the competition until his exhaust problem, causing him to lose quite some engine power. If he gets in a car that's reliable throughout the season, he definitely has a great shot at becoming World Champion. I've always been a Hamilton fan, but this season I think I'll be rooting for Vettel.
Also, I'm not really sure what to think of the new 'no refuelling during the race' rule. I mean, it basically means that the drivers have to stop once to change tires, and I'm not really sure if it was the track or this new rule, but it was kinda boring after the pits. Vettel could just react to Alonso to time his pits so with this there's no real speculation of strategy or whatever. I will just wait for the next few races to make up my mind about this new rule, but for now I will say that I'd rather have it like this:
-Refuelling possible again.
-No information available of how much the car weighs at the start of the race
Because the different strategies of the teams is what made it fun for me to watch.
Anyway, I also believe that they should be forced to use steel brakes instead of carbon fibre ones, so that the speed of the cars should be reduced, so that the whole race gets a lot closer again, and there are a lot more opportunities for overtaking.
SO....
DISCUSS!!
