There is already a thread for this so I'm guessing this will be merged into the other one. As I stated before this is to hype everyone else (US/Canada) into getting the game. Showing off combos, character skins, and that good stuff.

They've never revealed any characters in the past on their streams so I don't expect them to now. It doesn't matter too much though, since we'll know the full roster soon after.

I expect a whole lot of hype marketing for the game and not much about actual gameplay. Ill just look for recaps of info. Thry are highly unlikely to say anything except here is some characters we haven't shown you or make it just a stream where they play only 4 player ffa with items. Personally I don't like watching those as playing seems to be the more entertaining option.

I think DHD is the safe bet as well. Bowser Jr just doesn't feel like the character they would reveal last for that last min hype(Any of the "Reamining" 5 i feel wont be revealed til after release)

Bowser Jr could very well be revealed on the website before fri and treehouse can show DHD

He gets shot down by a ZAP! -after a few seconds of flying- and the camera points towards the ground with the reveal that its the Duck Hunt Dog holding a Nintendo Zapper.
"DHD shoots the competition down!"

Cue footage of DHD in action along with sick NES rock guitar remix and heavy drums.

The video ends with Ridley on the ground saying "I'll get my chance another day."
After the Dog picks Ridley up -by the neck- and laughs as the video fades to black.

Bonus scene: Cue Samus dumbfounded that DHD was able to Take Ridley out in one shot, while she can't kill him in 5/6 games.

If my own translation was remotely accurate, they said they were showing off new fighters and modes, not that they were revealing anything unseen before. I hope I'm wrong and mistranslated that part, but I wouldn't get my hopes up until the Smash fire logo happens.

How is seeing the ins and outs of a character that we don't actually know how they work not exciting? Literally, the only thing we know for sure about the DHD is the 95% chance that it exists and its character portrait.

100% chance he exists, and we've seen these retro revival characters from Sakurai before. Ridley, Mewtwo, or Dixie would be more interesting to me personally.

If Dr. Mario was the reveal, I would regret skipping this event. Duck Hunt Dog is great, but Doctor Mario seems to be more of a "Treehouse-esque" reveal.

Mewtwo if in(which i do believe he will be) will be almost identical to Melee moveset wise. Dixie will be a clone. Ridley will be the only unique character moveset wise and while i do believe he is a more hyped character then DHD. DHD will clearly be the more unique character. Im quite excited to see how he plays.

No, it isn't. Duck Hunt are both the dog and the duck, as you can see in the character's portrait. It not really weird.
