Footstool jump: For all?

Sorry if there has been a topic about this already. I have not learned how to fully use the search function to help me look if the topic has been done or not.

Anyways the idea is, I looked back at Yoshi doing the Footstool jump and im wondering if all characters can do this, or is it going to be a thing that only some characters get, like wall jump, Gliding, (probably crawling) and such.

I mean it looks like something everyone would be able to do...but...I just cant imagine Bowser jumping off Pikachu without some sort of trip to the hospital.

I just find it highly unlikely every character would have this ability...dunno why, its in my gutt...ideas?

Maybe it's a wall jump type thing, where only select characters can do it?

I doubt it will be for everyone, maybe just the lighter, more nimble characters, in the same way that wall jumping was restricted to lighter characters in melee

On the update for gliding and for tether recovery he makes it clear that certain characters can use the technique. On footstool jump, he makes no effort to do so. Therefore, it is logical to assume that all characters can do it.

Even though he doesn't say it, I'm pretty sure every character can do it. That would be a little unfair to the heavy characters (and he's looking to balance them all, right?)

I think heavier characters will Footstool jump lower while lighter characters will jump higher.

It would make the most sense if everyone could do it but the physics made it so that if a heavy character jumped off a lighter one they wouldn't gain much ground. While at the same time the lighter character would get shot downwards much faster.

What for thinking brawl is going to suck? It is. Sakurai is trying to even out characters but he's not doing a great job. He shouldnt add any advanced tactics >_>

He shouldn't add advanced tactics? Melee would have sucked if he didn't add any to that.

And you have no ****ing idea how good a job he's doing at evening out characters, nobody does.

In Melee, it would have been hard to imagine a tiny little Fox spiking a large Bowser just by spinning around and kicking downward, but it happened. Pikachu just seems weird to you because he has no real spike in Melee, so most of you can't see it happening, but Sakurai and his team has surprised us so far with their ability to stretch the limits of possibility. Sure, all 4 of Pikachu's limbs are quite small, thus making a stomping action strange in our eyes, but I doubt they would completely throw out the idea for some characters because "it would look weird." The concept of smaller characters doing superhuman/superanimal (?) feats is not something unseen in the previous Smash games, so why would it be strange now?

Maybe Bowser or DK, when they use the footstool jump, it pushes the opponents down or stuns them, while not giving them as much lift. If used in mid-air, it would push the opponent down.

Think of Bowser stepping on Pikachu, who then stumbles for a few seconds, but it could be harder for Bowser to reach Pikachu, since it's smaller than him.

no jumping on his shell... I don't see anything wrong with his head... but his shell takes up a lot of room...

Well you don't have to use his shell you can use his head, it's always available and spike free, plus it takes up a lot of room too.

I don't think all characters will be able to do it, but it seems they are giving advantage to a lot of characters, I hope the heavy ones get some advantages, cause it doesn't seem like it.
