Hello guys I have a question about flat panel tv's .(btw I search for this and found nothing, however if it is out there please do correct me) I've played on three flat panel tv's so far and noticed a bit of lag and wanted to ask:
Do all flat panel tv's lag ?(LCD, PLASMA, LED) or are there special ones out there, b/c was thinking of upgrading mine but if theres no sexy stuff what's the point. Was thinking of taking my cube & smash to the stores & testing them there, though they might not approve of that...:ohwell:
Any info welcomed on this, thanks.

why do people want to play smash on hdtvs ? i don't get it, melee looks really good on crts and looks terrible on lcds. sometimes you can't even fix the aspect ratio so it's stuck in 16:9 or whatever and it's all stretched. on a lot of lcds the image blurs or looks pixelated at times

if the console isn't ps3/360, crts are just really good, and lcds suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Yes, there is basically no reason to buy an HDTV. Melee doesn't work, and people leave CRTs on their lawns for free.

If you're going to play on an HDTV, buy component cables or VGA cables (even less input lag, but without sound) to reduce input lag. Component cables are very abundant for wii but you can only buy VGA cables online. For GameCube, component cables are difficult to find and much more expensive. I don't even know if VGA cables for GameCube even exist.

But if you're playing on a good HDTV (with component cables), the input lag has near zero impact if you're not playing Fox/Falco.
