Yeah while he is a valued asset, we want more than just another blue haired anime swordsman. It's good to see Heroes gets some recognition. I'm still hoping we get more than Chrom from Fire Emblem on the playable fighter front.
Ta lad.I support this! Easily!
I like it, a counter that freezes foes would be genius, but to keep it from being broken, it would either mean pulling off the timing for the counter, is gonna harder than pulling of Roy's counter, or they don't stay frozen for long unless they're at really, high percent's like 150%.I'm thinking it would be more appropriate to make her counter just freeze opponents and have a much larger multiplier than average; it would deliver low knockback but devastating damage.
The damage multiplier could be 1.5× (minimum 12%), and its knockback could be 15 (base)/50/30 (scaling).
This is in contrast with Roy's current damage of 1.35× (minimum 9%), and knockback of 35 (base)/100/70 (scaling).
What do you guys think?
I'm thinking it would be more appropriate to make her counter just freeze opponents and have a much larger multiplier than average; it would deliver low knockback but devastating damage.
damage multiplier has decreased (1.5× → 1.35×), although its knockback was somewhat compensated (30 (base)/90/70 (scaling) → 35 (base)/100/70 (scaling)). This hinders its KO potential.
What do you guys think?
I have decided to make the knockback pitifully low to balance the damage dealt and vulnerability presented by freezing. Thanks for asking.I like it, a counter that freezes foes would be genius, but to keep it from being broken, it would either mean pulling off the timing for the counter, is gonna harder than pulling of Roy's counter, or they don't stay frozen for long unless they're at really, high percent's like 150%.
If you had to pick a downside which would you choose? Or if you have your own let me know. But all in all I'd love for her counter to be like that.
It's well established that it wouldn't be; while I agree that the anti-projectile route would be more novel, we don't want things to get too complicated. If it functions anything like a traditional Counter, I am wholeheartedly against it.
Thanks. That's interesting you picture her as someone who can lose her lance, but fights hand to hand to compensate.
I think the lance should be permanent of her moveset, just like the rest FE characters. Instead of a lance throw, you could give her the Ice Beam attack that she uses in the book 2 trailer against the King, have it push and damage enemies back a bit at low damage, and have it provide heavy knockback and freezing at really high percent's similar to Suicune's Ice Beam except that spamming the move lowers it's effectiveness quicker than other characters moves do and causes heavy lag.P.Kat , I've got a big decision to make; should I keep her moveset as it is or make the Lance a permanent part of it?

To say the least, she'd be quite a divergence from the usual FE rep.Her ice powers would make her Pretty unique.
Sadly I doubt she can make it into the base roster. If Sakurai planned the Roster in 2015 it might be too late. FEH was announced 2016 and Fjorm only introduced in late 2017. I doubt they already had a finished Concept for Fjorm in 2015. So at best I could see her as DLC. But then Dragalia Lost is probably already out and would likely be a better representation of Nintendo´s mobile market as basicly a new IP. Also Fjorm didn´t do very well in the second FEH poll and this time Sakurai mostly chooses fan favourites (K. Rool, Ridley, Inkling...)
She still has a chance for DLC so don't lose hope, beside I'm petty sure Intelligent Systems wants to add in new FE characters to represent their games (FE Heroes, and FE Three Houses), especially their Killer App Heroes, since Three Houses isn't here yet. Also although it's highly possible it means nothing, the fact that we got a FE Heroes song in Smash (check under music in the Smash website) could potentially mean more content from Heroes in the future, and maybe just maybe Fjorm. We can't expect her to come but we can hope that her chances are looking better.Oh, how did I miss this support thread? Fjorm is easily my number 1 pick for a Newcomer.
I am a big fan of Fire Emblem, love her design and think she could be very unique. Even though the weapon triangle is a big part of Fire Emblem, we haven´t gotten a single axe user or lance user. And most important to me, the ice power. While we have tons of fire moves (Mario and Luigi´s Fireball, Fox and Falcos Firefox/Firebird, Ness and Lucas PK Fire, Captain Falcon´s Punch, Kick..., Bowser´s Firebreath, Zelda Din´s fire, Young Link´s Fire arrow, Roy´s Flare blade, Charizard´s Flamethrower and Flareblitz, Mega Man´s Flame Sword, Robin´s Fireball, Ridley´s Fireball, and more), Electric, psychic, water… moves, we barely have anything ice related. The only Thing that Comes to mind are PK Freeze and a few Ice Climbers moves. Even though ice is in their Name, they barely have any ice moves. And it´s not like you can´t make a full ice character in a ighting game (Sub Zero in MK, Etalus in RoA, Killer Frost in Injustice, Kula Diamond in SNK Heroines etc).
Sadly there aren´t many ice related Nintendo characters. Besides Fjorm the only ones I can think of that have some chance are Rundas (Metroid Prime) (though we already got 2 new Metroid Characters and Syllux is probably more likely than Rundas if we would get another one) and a Pokémon (most likely Weavile) (though there is just too much concurrence, Gardevoir, Decidueye, Incineroar, Tapu Koko, Zeraora, Golisopod…). (Also noteworthy Lord Fredrik from DKC Tropical Freeze and the Jambastion Mage Francisca from Kirby Star Allies, though I wouldn´t give them more than a 1% Chance for Smash)
I do think Fjorm has a decent Chance. There aren´t that many other possible lance fighters imo, only Azura (but we already have Corrin and the next Fe is one its way) and Ephraim (game not relevant anymore).
Furthermore she would be perfect to represent Nintendo mobile games. FEH is the first proper Nintendo App and by far the most successful. She is currently the Icon of the app and main character of the 2nd chapter. She is also an original character from the app. (There are 4 other original FEH characters that have a Chance. Sharena and Alfonse, the Summoner and Veronica. I don´t think we will get Sharena and Alfonse. They aren´t similar enough to be one character (like Corrin or Robin), as Sharena uses a lance and Alfonse a Sword. But also not important and popular enough to be worth 2 seperate unique characters. The Summoner isn´t really seen Fighting and very bland imo. Only Veronica seems also likely to me. Maybe even more than Fjorm, as she was the former Icon, exists since the start of FEH and would be the first FE villain in Smash. She also did well in the second poll.) And Nintendo seems eager to Keep going with the mobile market (Mario Kart Tour and Dragalia Lost).
And her ice powers would make her Pretty unique.

Fingers crossed on that front! She still has a chance for DLC so don't lose hope, beside I'm petty sure Intelligent Systems wants to add in new FE characters to represent their games (FE Heroes, and FE Three Houses), especially their Killer App Heroes, since Three Houses isn't here yet. Nice one. I'll stick you on the supporters list; say otherwise if not.I'm interested. Fjorm would be cool as an Ice based character. She has a niche that only one character shares, and the only other Ice based character I can see joining Smash (Rundas) is dead in his own franchise.
Best case scenario, honestly.True, though Maybe it could also be that they made Krystal an AT, because they already planned on using Fjorm and didn´t want to include 2 ice staff/lance users ^^".
Onto the list, you go, then! The number of Fire Emblem characters in a video game directly scales with how much I like it. Fjorm for Smash.
I'm sure that Krystal won't hurt her chances. As someone who still remember Star Fox Adventures, (my first Gamecube game) Krystal is not an ice staff user, the staff itself isn't even solely ice based. The staff she uses has various element powers and abilities such as a fire blaster, aforementioned ice spray, rocket jump, force field and (super) ground quake. As I was trying to explain: Krystal has put us in an awkward spot because her implementation might be Sakurai's way of saying that he doesn't want that type of character, or he simply chose a different Ice Staff user over her; we don't know for sure but I obviously hope it's the latter.
4'000 Views; we're 4/5 of the way there, guys! Let's not lose steam.
Thanks. You can count me in as a Fjorm supporter. One of the most unique ideas for a new Fire Emblem character and she has the added minor, but cool factor of being a Mobile game exclusive character! Granted in the realm of Nintendo, Fire Emblem Heroes is the only game to actually have mobile exclusive characters (at least until Dragalia Lost comes out ) but still.
Fire Emblem could do with a fresh weapon user. I'll add you and psb.If we're gonna get a new Fire Emblem character, Fjorm would be a pretty cool moveset to play with. Count me in!
She might have been designed too late for the base game, but she's got a good shot in DLC.
Yep but we'll from them eventually, in the meantime nice picture, and wonderful AvatarThis Direct is taking its time, isn't it?

Honestly, I can't say I'm surprised. Natural disasters are always difficult to recover from. That said, I'm not expecting a Direct at all this month. This Direct is taking its time, isn't it?
I'd give it a week delay.Man... I really wanted Dancing Xander. But I could never manage to summon him. This is why I never buy Orbs. That's a lot of money--and for what? No guarantee. I heard about a player that spent over a thousand banknotes trying to get the unit he/she wanted. That said, might as well go to a damn casino.
And drat, Veronica lost the final round. Joined her team from the start, and was surprised to see her beat Lyn. I blame everyone whom got cocky just because she was far ahead of Ephraim. That gave him plenty of opportunities to catch up. Ergo, I kind of saw this coming.
