First Round BRoom Entries!

We would like to start by saying thank you to everyone who applied! We had a great turn out for our first round of applications.

At this point we have 9 members selected for the backroom. If you where not accepted this round that doesn’t mean you’ll never get in. Within 4 months we should be opening the application process again, with that in mind, some members where very close so please keep motivated even if you did not make it!

From what I can see only the best of the best got in so no one should be beating themselves up if they didn't.

Well, I was surprised too, but S2J was a good poster back in 08/early 09 before he was apparently corrupted by Lovage, so maybe he'll actually contribute. If he doesn't he can always get kicked out. I was more surprised at Koro making it in TBH.

I certainly hope so. I think I remember him being an excellent poster in the old Match-up discussion thread. Besides, I doubt he would put the effort into a good application if he was planning to just troll and get kicked out of the Backroom.

Criteria for getting in was basically app structure/quality, regular posting quality and level of knowledge/skill...each of the three leaders roughly took one of the criteria and took input from the others in their vote.

Feel free to apply next round - if you really want critique for why you weren't admitted, PM me and I'll summarise why you didn't get in.

i dont think ignoring the more casual and non competitive or less competitive possibilities of playing will be good to increase the community but lets see

In other words, if you take this purely for fun (even if you are a decent/good player), you dont enter, and if you work hard like you want to get the master degree of smash64, you enter.

is there anyone who does not play this for fun? i do not get your logic, there is not real tournament scene that you can earn money off, so if you play this, you only do it because you love the game.
sure, some of us are more competitive than others, but your entire argument is without merit.

I am a good debater/I can make a long good application when I want to. Also, that I am a mod for smash wiki due to my ssb64 edits and my AIB posts so I can help on other websites.

I think I am the only guy outside of Boom who actually plays barlw in the SSBroom.

We also need at least 1 keyboard player in this lol.

to this:
1. Why would we allow random scrubs to join a back room? It does say for the "elite."

2. Purely on competitive play? Well yes. We don't want to have posts like: Hey guyz, wouldn't it be fun to change the ssb ruleset to include Sector Z and items.

3. I am not an offline competitive ssb64 player nor do I take ssb64 that competitively. People get in for knowledge and for a non-troll post attitude. They also get in for being active on this forum.

4. "the more nerd you are": /implying you would get in if you make posts like this anyway.
