So I'm thinking that my blog looks pretty empty and sometimes I consider myself an avid writer so I decided to write a little blog. And what better to write about my first impression of SWF?
When I got here, I'm just a shmoe no one even knows. I'd played Smash since the first installment and loved it. I figured, "hey, I can play against people and probably beat a majority of them." I was dead wrong after meeting Arch Knight and LordofDarkness. Nothing said wake up call after getting pwned by strangers. LordofDarkness doesn't log on anymore (that I'm aware of) but he was an insane Ganondorf player. Arch Knight, I figured, is just one of those players who must have had a lucky day and beat me. But I learned the hard way after several matches. That taught me not to get cocky. Then after those few matches I picked up Sonic. I played a few people but then I met OutlawStar. I played him, but then he said I needed to improve. I felt shocked that someone said it straight up, but hey, it happens. So I started trying and found some new techniques. I started winning.
The people here were great. Especially urfat. Great Falcon player and good sportsman. But after a while I got cocky again. Then PrinceRamen shows up and does some insane things with Pit and again, I felt humble. Then things went back to square one for a bit and I met some johns. Just people who got aggravated over small things like oh, I don't know, they don't want to admit to spamming. So I met them, but those are the people who are great winners and poor sports.'
Overall, I judge that SWF is almost like the real world. You meet people who tell you you need to get better, people who whine and complain, people who stick around for a while then disappear. Not to mention there are shinnanigans every once in a while.

Yeah, when you meet us offline and in person, it's a lot different than how you would think. You gain relationships online and even when you meet someone for the first time offline, you're already friends and since we're all here for a common cause, there's no need to worry about offending someone when you give them tips.

Yeah, I can dig that, it's just kind of weird to hear things you don't want to hear from strangers. Or comrades once you get to know them.
