This is situational, but not TOO situational.

You know how jab locks and laser locks force the character to get up after the lock ends?
Fireballs hit like lasers right when the opponent falls to the ground, and the opponent is forced to get up, so Luigi should run and upB as soon as the other guy gets up. Luigi should watch out and wait for the invincibility frames of the opponent to end though. The fireballs do not have much range so Luigi should be able to get one upB in time, if not, maybe a running upsmash. Charged smashes can work too if you were close.

Forgive me if this might have been known for a while. I don't lurk the Luigi boards often.

Eh. Seems extremely impractical.
I can't see very many situations where we'll be just laying there.

But it's nice that you mention it. Fireball -> Jab -> Shoryuken could work more often than what you describe.

I've had the opportunity to do this several times I'm just so **** that it happens and then I realise I could have done it.

I oddly enough did this just the other day. I had someone in a fireball lock and was close enough to dash into an uppercut after the 3rd fireball. Pretty neet. Very very very situational though.

Dash attack > fireball, ftilt > fireball, jab combo > fireball.

Rarely, but sometimes work. I forget the %'s. (Just so you guys have some setups for this)

Also Jab > Up-B is slightly safer because the jab should hit allowing a guarenteed up-B.

I play Luigi like....rarely ever :p but I do this whenever I see my opponent fails at teching EVERYTHING

I most commonly use fireball->running Usmash, but I'm sure there have been a few times when I could have pulled something better off. I'm gonna make sure to try something other than Usmash the next time it comes up :)

o hay i r back from dead....for now.

I would say that a short-hopped fireball (while moving toward opponent) into up-b is somewhat useful on tall characters (dk/ganon comes to mind for me) if they don't expect it. However, if the opponent can see this coming, or you miss the initial fireball, you're in a pretty bad position, moving towards him in mid-air while still recovering from fireball.

I never really posted here because I'd never done it, in my tournament match, I was fast falling, I did a fireball, UpB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's actually awesome. But still pretty situational.
