finally i get to get some vids of myself, i realize the quality isn't great but it will do. i'd appreciate if anyone and everyone could critique my marth both good and bad, you can be harsh but don't say anything that will make me go in my closet and cut my wrists and black my eyes.

Another thing, i felt like i was having controller problems throughout these matches and it seemed sometimes i'd completely miss a grab although it went through him, yes i know johns but you'll see for yourself.

One thing is for certain. You don't give up easy.

I'd work on combos. Just combo train like hell.

The double Marth match...you faded away quite quickly...and you could have KO'ed the other one with just an Edgehog, but you got off.....?

The MArth Shiek match was ok, you need to learn to grab a little more imo. Always jumping in with an aerial gets really easy to avoid.

The Marth vs. Marth matchup this was even more exploited. A lot of his damage just came from shield grabbing you. Here is a tip, if you are coming down, and they are shielding you have to either A) make sure your spaced so that they can't grab you. B) hit as low on the shield as possible to give you more time before they can grab you out of shield lag or C) waveland backwards and Fsmash when they grab. You could have easily wavedashed back to Fsmash a few times, that would have enabled you to be able to shffl more aerials in since he would be afraid to shield grab.

I don't think you need to work on combos although you didn't get a lot of them. You really need to work on openings. Don't always shffl or jump in with an aerial or dash to dtilt. Learn to grab more to give make them weary of shielding, you will also get more combo opportunities from grabs.

That was what I think your main fault was, whenever you approached he knows to shield, because you never just run up and grab him from a distance.

VS Sheik:
The easiest way to kill off Sheik is to make her use her second jump. Easy at low percentage. Once she does jump, do all you can to chase her and try your best not to let her hit the ground.

Ditto:
Woah, DI away from the fthrow. The gayest attack as far as marth dittos go worked twice? Well, I know. We've all been there. You need to get the sweetspotting distance down too or less importantly learn to edgetech. I noticed you were getting shieldgrabbed quite a lot out of the fair too, so space your aerials more appropriately.

you have to stop using your jump like you do when your recovering do a couple of f- b's then maybe use the jump as a rising fair or something and personally i thought you could of wavedash or fox trotted more instead of just just dashing sometimes i like the fair uair fair fair fair or whatever you did on the sheik

ok, i'm sorry if i sound noobish but what exactly is fox trotting? i've heard of it but never knew what it was.

yeah, i know frostbyte lol i got tipped twice by the f-throw, DIing away is what i obviously need to do, i didn't play well at all that game and i'm not to proud to show everyone that vid.

ps. gamefreak i appreciate your input but i'm gonna let you in on a secret, you never cc sheik or you'll just get tilted to death, if anyone ccs in the marth vs sheik matchup its sheik.

thanks for the advice so far keep it coming.

ehh.... fox trot is when uhh

when ever you start dashing he makes a gliding motion before he starts actually running if you keep on moving forward like tapping it over and over again you can move faster... it looks cool

this is what Crater12 said

"A technique where you repeatedly do the starting animation of a
dash, allowing certain characters (like Marth and Fox) to be able to move
faster than they normally would with it. When done Marth should make an almost
gliding motion across the ground with a short pause each time you repeat the
starting animation."

at low percents as in if they grab you at 0% i believe that no matter what you get tippered, i'm not for sure i play with someone who doesn't do that so i didn't know what to expect in the match. but overall, when at higher percents its better to DI away

If you DI away or down and away, you won't get hit at all and you'll be able to shield before they can attack. Don't quote me on that though, if may be just for the PAL version.

archnatural i did take in what you said especially about the approach, i'll remember to approach with grabs more so i won't be so predictable.

Against Sheik try not to spotdodge. Marth's spotdodge is just too slow. Wavedash, Shield-wavedash, jump out of shield, shield, or just run away, but spotdodging a hit will just let Sheik land a more powerful one. Also, learn to edgeguard Sheik. Don't roll from the edge; wait for the explosion and then just press up on the stick. If Sheik lands on the stage smash her off at low damage or nail her with a dolphin slash at higher %. If Sheik goes up and attempts to fall onto the ledge, same plan.
