Im surprised no one has mentioned Samus having a power bomb for her FS
Ness should have PK Rockin
Lucas should have PK love
Kirby should have crash

All I really want is for Dedede to have a better Final smash, maybe with Kirby Return To Dreamland in mind he could have a phased final smash with the super ability enemies this time instead of the big gay dance and fairly pointless Waddle Dee's flying all over the place, doing the equivalent to nothing most of the time.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this, but what about team based final smashes? I know this seems like a bit much, but give it a bit of thought. Let's say you're playing a team match and the smash ball pops up. When one player of the team gets the smash ball, it can either be used by the person themselves, or can be shared. How this is implemented, I have not a clue. But regardless it exists. So some examples:

- Mario and Luigi: A team final smash move from one of the mario and luigi rpg games.
- Link and Zelda: A light arrow and then combo attack.
- Ness and Lucas: Starstorm and Earthquake.

The list is endless. The second part of this is if the team final smashes are just with certain partners of the same universe or if some characters could use final smashes with characters not from their game. Although it may seem a bit much, it's an interesting idea.

What I was thinking, I'm sure I made a thread about this before the change, it that the Final Smash be assigned to it's own button and for Characters to have 3 of them. This would also go in hand with adding a Smash meter, where dealing and taking Damage built up a meter and when it's full the Final smash can be done. Smash Balls would completely fill the meter and dieing would half the meter, until the pity smash.

These characters, in my opinion, are in desperate need of new Final Smashes:
Peach (Vibe Power)
Bowser
Donkey Kong
Toon Link (Ballad of Gales)
Falco (Arwing)
Wolf
Jigglypuff (Moon Blast)
Lucario (Close Combat)
Ness (PK Rockin)
Lucas (PK Love)

Thank you to liets, Souless_shadow, PikaJew, and ImaClubYou for their great final smash ideas.

If luigi does not get his vaccum for a B move then his final smash

Bowser is fine giga bowser is to stay as his final smash maybe giga bowser should walk the same way bowser did in the whole series

Toon Link NEEDS a Wind Waker inspired final smash.
I really hope he plays the Ballad of Gales and summons a bunch of cyclones to tear through the stage.

Peach needs a new Final Smash. Be it something reminiscent of her Vibe Island powers, or even just pulling up a giant turnip gun and firing it about like a Ray Gun.

Just please, ANYTHING, but that horrid excuse for a Final Smash that serves no other purpose but to crack a pun that everyone got tired of the first time they saw it.

First time seeing it:
"Oh look, Peach's Final Smash summons peaches. Haha..."

Second time seeing it:
"Please tell me that's not all it does..."

Third time:
"Okay, now even her opponents are falling asleep from the sheer amount of
uninspired dreck that move produces."

A tad harsh, perhaps, but honestly, I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels this way. :I

Whats wrong with Yoshi, luigi, and bowser?
They have absolutely nothing to do with anything these characters have actually done in their own games, as far as I know.
Am I the only one who has a problem with that kind of thing...?

giga bowser may not actually have anything to do with bowser from the games, but it is an important part of smash bros, what with it being a boss in melee
luigi's i think is ok. not too powerful, not too weak, and has a dark backstory :p
yoshi's i wouldn't know, as i haven't played many yoshi games, but it is a pretty strong move, so i want something different

P.S. thank you PixelPasta for approving jiggly moon blast :chuckle:

Giga Bowser is indeed an important part of Smash Bros, but as you have just clarified, it is not an important part of Bowser. So why, exactly, is it Bowser's Final Smash? Since it is such an important part of Smash Bros because of it's boss role in Melee, I think it should continue to be a boss.
Luigi's is - dare I say it - the worst, most unfaithful final smash in the game. Luigi has never done any move like that - nor does his personality fit with that move whatsoever. Compare Smash Bros Luigi to Luigi from the Mario series. Do you honestly think that the trippy, psychadelic, almost eerie nature of 'Negative Zone' fits with Luigi's humble, cowardly-yet-courageous personality? I should think not!
I looked into Yoshi's final smash a bit and found that it actually is based on a move that Yoshi can use in Super Mario World - so I'm fine with that one now.

An yes, I think Moon Blast is a great idea, however, I'd hope that it would be a little more unique than a generic beam move that so many characters have.

i like you PixelPasta you provide decent, non-flame discussion
i believe bowser's final smash was and unfortunately will continue to be his final smash simply because it was a boss in the precursor to brawl, where final smashes were introduced. basically like "hey, what can we give him? ah yes here we are this will fit nicely" no matter how hard we both believe he should do one of the many boss-awesome things a fire-breathing dragon turtle of his stature should be able to do.
now to luigi. man do you have some strong convictions on this one. unfaithful, sure. worst? maybe. he has in fact never used a move like it. so why do i approve of it? the sole reason, in my opinion, that luigi's negative zone actually DOES fit him is this:
random factor
with his taunt, victory animation, and now official image portray him to be an unpredictable kinda guy, i believe it fits him. and what does the negative zone do? it sports a couple random effects to basically screw up all who get caught in it's plans for the moment. he does some strange crazy randomness dance in the middle, and suddenly things are outta whack. so yes, i totally agree with you that it IS fairly unfaithful, but i don't think it doesn't fit him at all

Luigi has always been In Mario's shadow so it is faithful.
Giant bowser has been important, they just made him somewhat different.

Honestly I think Moonblast on Jiggs should be its new neutral B. Sing is useless but we all know how "iconic" that garbage is.

If Jiggs gets something new for a FS give her something like full screen Dazzling Gleam where the entire screen would turn white and players would have to dodge the fast moving black lines with weak hitboxes and very strong hitboxes for the final hit.

I too believe that Bowser's final smash will stay the same. That's disappointing for me personally, but at the end of the day, I guess it is still fairly fitting (I just wish it drew more inspiration from Mario games).

As for Luigi: I love the guy. He is one of my favorite Mario characters (probably my second favorite next to Toad). This why I care so much about how he is portrayed.
I am of the opinion that he is portrayed very differently than he should be. My problem started with moves such as the Green Missile - when I first saw this move in Melee I was very confused as to how it fits in with who Luigi is. Then, all of his odd taunts really disappointed me. Taunts are usually the thing that shows off the most of the character's personality. And in Luigi's case, boy do I think it misrepresents him - the belly-flopping thing, the weird poses... it's just not Luigi. The most recent thing that bothered me is Luigi's official image. Seriously, compare this with some of Luigi's other official poses. The Smash Bros one barely fits in, if you ask me.
I guess I've just always taken character portrayal very seriously. For a Nintendo all-stars crossover, I think everybody should be perfectly represented.
Good discussion though! You bring up some very good points.

In all honesty, I have a bad feeling that Sakurai won't be change many final smashes, if any.

Peach's current final smash is hilarious. I'd like it to stay.

The Star Fox characters definitely need new Final Smashes, and Pit is likely to get one as well.

yeah you do have a point with the other poses comparison thing. but i don't know, i guess smash bros has decided to amplify the randomness he already had and evolve it onto who he is specifically for smash. i personally am fine with it, but with him as a high-tier liked mario character for you, i can see the frustration and confusion

Does Bowser being giant in every Mario game ring a bell?
As for luigi. Super paper Mario showed he had a dark side, and Mr. L, It makes perfect sense.

Yoshi's final smash is actually a power up he gets in Super Mario World so it makes sense.

If Baby Mario is on his back this time then Super Baby Mario needs to be the final smash.

Jigglypuff should use Perish Song for a Final Smash. She sings like when she uses sing, but it has much more range and anyone hit is one-hit KO'ed.

So it's like melody combined with rest? I like it.

Jigglypuff should put everyone to sleep like Peach does then she can hit them in the face with a giant marker.

I'm ok with most... Toon Link needs something new... Link too really though it does look cool.

and god... all them landmasters! Personally I prefer the air.

Bowser is giant, yes, but does he ever look like this abomination? Just because he is large doesn't mean his final smash should completely revolve around that.
And... one game where Luigi had a 'dark side' (which wasn't really all too dark in my opinion) isn't enough to warrant a final smash of that nature over, say, something from Luigi's Mansion, if you ask me. Plus, even if Luigi did have this so-called 'dark side', Negative Zone specifically was still never used by Luigi or Mr. L, so it still doesn't fit.
But if you like the final smash, that's fine by me. Just don't say 'it makes perfect sense', as whether that is true is simply a matter of opinion. It just doesn't appeal to everybody.

I think for Lucario,Mewtwo (if he comes back), and Pokémon Trainer the final smashes should involve mega evolution with there final smash move.

do any final smashes really accurately represent their characters? since when has Link trapped someone inside of triforces and beat them senseless? or mario done the kamahameha? they are all just MvC style super moves for the most part save for a few like sonic and diddy kong.

Yes, many final smashes do accurately represent their characters.

I'd say that's about half and calling Pikachu turning into a blue ball accurate is overstating things a bit.

Well, what Pokemon moves look like has always been a bit ambiguous, so I'd still personally consider it to be fine.

Besides, there are also lots of characters - such as R.O.B, Mr. Game & Watch or Wii Fit Trainer - where creative license was necessary because there aren't many moves viable for a final smash... and I think that they did a fine job considering they had so little to work with. It just annoys me when established characters such as Luigi get final smashes pulled out of thin air.

wolf-?

lucas and ness' final smashes should be different from each other, make one of them keep starstrom and one of them something different

Meta knights final smash is really dumb imo, give him the galactic knight

Change peaches like crazy

Kirby should have the mic from his games, but i would not be to upset if they didnt change it

Donkey kong is the worst one imo, give him the animal buddies

give toon link something windwaker inspired

Mario's was just so basic. His series is so big. It can't be that hard to make a unique final smash for him

Exactly, it was basic, like Mario in and of himself in every multi-player appearance. In multi-player games, Mario has always been rather generic and baseline, so it makes sense that his FS would be rather simplistic.

On the topic of Luigi, his Final Smash, while representing his randomness and "Luigi"-ness, also represents the fact that he was always second-best, he was always in his brother's shadow and could not get out. He embraced that darkness in the shadow and created the negative zone. I think it's creative and original, and should stay.

Peach's FS shouldn't be kicked out, just reworked to be better. Characters I feel should have new Final Smashes are Pit, Falco, Wolf, Ness, and Lucas. That's all what I think of.

But he is not living in Mario's shadow anymore with all that year of Luigi stuff. I like it, it is one of the funniest final smashes, but it makes, at least, a lot less sense now.
