I'm going to go with this. At this point, more menus, stages, items. etc just seems like a poor way to end the PotDs, but at the same time I personally doubt we'll be getting a newcomer reveal.

Did Sakurai ever say the POTDs were ending on 3DS release? There's still a wealth of things we don't know about the Wii U version, but everyone treats it as if it's definitely over this week.

EDIT: And I just realized OP is talking specifically about 3DS POTD. Now I feel stupid.

I'm guessing this is how this weeks PotD's will go since Sm4sh will be released in Japan the following weekend (I'm probably wrong on this though).

Monday: Info on Smash Run
Tuesday: Reveal of new alt costume
Wednesday: Something exclusive to the 3DS version like a stage
Thursday: Veteran or newcomer reveal
Friday: Newcomer reveal, or something like a pic of all the characters together or the title screen

Alph. He's got to appear. Revealing him won't stop the hype of seeing him ingame like a character would, so there's no need to keep him secret for hype purposes like they seem to be doing with Dark Pit and co. I feel like people who aren't familiar with Pikmin will just happen upon Alph by accident and be confused- who's he and where did he come from? He should be shown this week to introduce him to the Miiverse fans and generate small hype.

I can't believe the Pic of the Day is almost over. I don't know what to say. After lots of trolling, flaming in the threads, excentric speculation, bizzare comments, opinions, complaints, hype, extreme nitpicking, and all of that, maybe Sakurai is saving the best for last, to reward our patience, and to reward that we endured his jokes and trolling. Or he will make a bad joke.

I'd actually like to see Ridley playable but I just find the jokes funny.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess we're getting more menus. Hopefully outfits or a cool gameplay mechanic but I doubt it.

although i dont really care either way for Ridley (cowers in corner from Ridley fans) I really want to see back. Been one of my favorite characters in smash sense Melee, so i hope he returns
