Paying teachers more would not only give some more incentive to work, it would attract higher quality students to the field.
Teaching environment is important too, ie better quality facilities and schools.

You have to remember that all kids don't learn at the same paces and that even though most of the kids will be paying attention in class some wont due to illnesses like ADD and ADHD. Does that mean we should pull them from a normal classroom just because it will affect the teachers pay or do we let them stay and have the teacher suffer due to anothers illness?
