If you were familiar with the internet 5-10 years ago, you have probably played some Flash games here and there. This is a place where we can all appreciate the flashiness (get it?) and pizazz of these games from an overlooked section of the gaming world.
One of my favorites is Fancy Pants Adventures (specifically 1 and 2). This was a pretty simplistic platformer, but it still felt wonderful to play (the only thing I didn't like about 1 was the lack of sliding when you crouch and run, but that was fixed in 2), the physics felt a bit floaty but still nice, and running around with fancy pants on is great fun. These games had decent music, nicely stylized graphics, good gameplay, and great level design with some hidden stuff if you're adventurous enough. The control scheme seems a bit wonky compared to the modern-day standard, but it's still a delight to play nonetheless.
