Since you can’t pass people by running pass them, isn’t that a buff to Falcon’s dash grab? Overall he seems solid

Yes we've been discussing that a bunch, he's a lot like a viper lunging out with his grab now lol, can't whiff but same speed. Hell yeah

Here's some more footage recently uploaded on the smashbrosspain youtube channel.

A few things I noticed:

-Raptor boost has less end lag when it connects (looks the same as smash 4 upon whiffing). Doesn't kill or lead to guaranteed followups but I think it'll be a really good anti-air and much less situational. https://youtu.be/PJRSdKE4Ntk?t=405

-Down smash looks like it has less end lag. This one might be placebo. I do recall it having low end lag in Smash 4 but I haven't played in about a year and a half so my memory might be foggy. If someone could work out the frame data, that'd be great. https://youtu.be/IpnmXC1UuE4?t=63

-Falcon Dive looks to have significantly increased knockback growth kinda like 64. It connected by the edge of Peach's castle and nearly killed WFT off the side at 63%. I really think this could be an enormous buff. Outside of Fatality, I never really saw Falcon mains abuse its insane Smash 4 hitbox but edge guarding with it was an extremely underrated option that would tack on 17% every time it connected. Not only does it kill much earlier and do even more percent now, but it's also going to be way easier to land off stage now that characters can't just mash airdodge until their recovery moves are within proximity of the stage. https://youtu.be/PJRSdKE4Ntk?t=77

-Followups from down throw have been significantly nerfed. The nair change makes it impossible to chain them and not much looks guaranteed past early to mid percents. Sucks but it doesn't bother me too much because it's meant to line Falcon up with the changes made to the rest of the roster. In general it seems like this game's advantage state is going to move away from fishing for your combo starter and following up with braindead autocombos like in Smash 4 and more about edge guarding and abusing your positional advantage. A change that is very much welcomed imo.

i have a question on the documentation of nair. If nair 2 comes out waaay faster than than s4 nair 2 why does it not seem to connect reliably? Is it because of nair 1 kb now? All the footage ive seen it looks like all multihits connect better. Looked like a game design flaw they fixed from 4.

Nair 1 doesn't have set knockback, but it also has more hitboxes. This means Nair is actually way better at linking than Smash 4, but you can't autocancel Nair 1 into Grab or DTilt.

Raptor Boost looks really fast, and although it doesn't kill or combo, it apparently has super-armor, so that thing is gonna be a pain in the ass for characters who can't land

I feel like an idiot for not knowing that this is virgina from dragon ball pee. The fact that knee now has the shield breaking effects makes me happy and scared.

Falcon is the character I don't think I will ever main, however, I have a lot of fun killing with Raptor Boost in Sm4sh, I hope that use to be possible in ultimate. Also, I really want to be able to improve with him

Am confirming that upB has significantly better knockback growth and you can use it to KO at like 130-140% onstage without rage. Raptor Boost will not KO aat any reasonable %, unfortunately, but can be used to combo at low %s. Unfortunately I can't get it to true combo into knee.
