Someone recently posted a thread where they wanted their Falco critiqued, and I looked through this board, and noticed that we don't have a video thread, so I figured I'd make this, and people can post awesome sets, or their own videos for critiques, because I know as a professional amateur, I could use some tips! And I guess I'll start it off, with a plea for critiquing my games. Thanks!

You have a lot of great stuff going for ya :) Good at continuing your combos from the initial approach to at least 3 good hits or more so thats great. The only thing I could really say that was obvious to me was that I just don't see any u-tilt in your game. I only made it to video 5 because its late and I believe I only saw u-tilt once. It's not like a god-send move or anything but I definitely saw some places where it would have been great for popping up your opponent, and its usually very easy to continue a combo out of it unless they are at very high percents. Overall great stuff.:starman:

My brother would like some CC for his Falco.
I'm liking what I'm seeing :) there's just a few things that stick out. (I'll just write it like I'm addressing it to your brother) With your SHL you can see how you shoot over ivysaur a lot. With your lasers you have control over how high/low they go based on when you hit B(or whatever you use for specials), just need to work on it and ivysaur and other short characters won't be able to just run straight at you underneath them. Also I'm not sure if all those B-reversals are on purpose but I can assume not. Careful, cause where it's a valuable skill to have, you need to be in control of it. The other thing I noticed would be just tightening up your L-canceling and maybe try some SHFFL'd nair approaches. good for quick ins and outs.

SHL. Needs a lot of practice. It reminds me of what I do a lot, I accidentally b-reversal a lot with lasers. I think the timing for SHL feels different in PM than Melee.

L-Cancelling as stated above also, and there were some missed jump cancel out of shines which may have hurt potential combos.

Yo guys, i'm having trouble with the spacies vs roy MU, he punish soooo hard. As you can see, I don't know any safe aproachs like, everything can lend in to a grab and death.
I destroy this guy with sheik, but I wanna know what to do with falco, this character is amazing

I'm not much of a falco player, but I didn't see very much baiting in either match, which could help lend to opening whoever youre playing up as well as making your opponent second guess whether or not youre going to approach at all, which can, in general, lead to more mindgames that you both can throw into your strategies.

Safe shield pressure is in fact one of the hardest parts of playing spacies, so don't feel bad about getting punished OOS a lot. To my understanding, there are two things you can do to be safer on shield as Falco (didn't watch the Fox match LOL). First, you can try to space your aerials as low to the ground as possible so that your attack hits as late as possible, hit subsequent fast falls and L cancels, and get your shine out as soon as possible (soon enough to stuff / prevent Marth / M2 shield grab maybe).

Secondly, you can try to space your aerials so that more often than not you land behind your opponent. This is much less effective against characters like Marth and Mewtwo that can sometimes / always grab behind them (just don't try to do shield pressure on Mewtwo... just don't do it) but against Roy it should help out a lot in terms of preventing the opportunity for your opponent to make a conversion.

Also, it might be useful for you to check out Falco's Shield Pressure Frame Data, and some other things like that. Cross reference with frame data on the matchup you're trying to improve upon, and try to see if anything pops up from there.
