Falco side-B platform cancel?

How do I get rid of the lag when side-b'ing from platform to platform. Example of what I'm talking about is in this vid, Skip to :30-33 seconds in.

Basically you need to position yourself so that when your side-b ends, you'll be on one of the edges of a platform. On battlefield from the ledge, jump backwards basically as far as you can, then side-b. Also on BF you can cancel it by running off the inner edge of a platform and immediately illumining to the other side. Thats how he does it twice in a row. Once you get a feel for it, you'll be able to use it on more stages.
