Falco Dittos are a pretty though MU imo.

I hate Falco Dittos, and I ive read pretty every Guide out there (also yours Guitarist haha =P)

But I wanted to ask i anybody has some tips to Falco dittos here.

You know ive got 3 Crewmember in my town, one sheik, one jiggz, one Fox (who plays a decent falco)

However i havnt THIS much experience against Falco.

I hate Falco Dittos for this reasons:

- Falco kills me @ 80%. I try to kill the other Falco... (who is @ 80% or so)
Bam, i got unlucky, i get comboed to 60%.
- When I face falcos i get shined form everywere. I dair the opponent at low percetages, some times he crouches into a shine. I uthrow, get shined, etc.
- SHL ... yeah...
- I get grabbed to often out of a dair... some advice?

To this, i always mess up my combos when they have to be there.
Thats just my techskill who disappears in every match lol.

the best Falco dittos videos are IMO these:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=eQf1lWY0yHw

anyway, I don't like the match up either but I'm pretty good at it. What matters in Falco dittos is mostly landing a shine on your opponent. If you're skilled enough from a shine you'll start a combo and from that combo you'll either throw your opponent off stage (which with proper edgeguarding will cost him a stock) or raise his % enough for the next aerial you'll land on him to send your opponent off stage. In order to land a shine there are basically 3 ways:

-hitting your opponent with any other move and then combo in with a shine (I'm expecially reffering to SHAerial approachs)
-using shine out of shield to intercept your opponent's approaches (yes, it stops pillaring if done properly).
-other less rilevant situations, expecially shine fortress (using shine in order to cancel a move of your opponent's) and shield stab. Shield stabbing is expecially nice, in order to attempt a shield stab use Sh + shine aiming at the head once your opponent's shield has weakened.

Among these in Falco dittos the most important thing to know is shield shine as fast as you can. Most of the Falco players will just rush on your shield with an aerial and if you're able to shield shine you'll begin a combo of your own beginning from their approach. Even if they notice it and stop approaching you recklessy, it's still a big advantage because being careful to shine shield will cost more concentration to your opponent and he'll be likely to make more mistakes. As in many other ditto matches, speed is a very rilevant factor. The faster Falco will most likely catch his opponent off guard and from there shine him and begin a combo. If you're opponent doesn't know about shine shield or doesn't perform it correctly, abuse approachs on his shield. Sooner or later he'll get shieldstabbed. Spacing in this match is pretty nice too but isn't a reliable strategy, since the most effective spacing tools are Falco's Bair and Utilt, both moves that in order to work well need Falco to be facing backwards. So what is your opponent going to do in order to stop it? lasers. One laser will be enough to turn you on the wrong side and at that point you'll be forced to shield in order to defend from the incoming attack. Remember to use lasers for the same purpose. Lasering has also the side effect of forcing your opponent in his shield, and the longer he'll remain in it the more his shield will consume, allowing you to shield stab him. So the most important thing IMO are:

-shine shield
-speed, both technical speed and speed in thinking
-lasers
-shieldstab

everything else is mostly the same as any other match up.

Aldwyn is the shizzle says I.

Remember what gives Falco trouble; people with good out of shield games, good edgeguarding/gimping/spike combos, good tech-chasing, and good wavelanding skills. You saw in those videos Forward continuously applied pressure through combos and tech-chasing to beat Shiz. Also DI is very important. Shiz got upair'd like 3 times in a row, lol, because of bad DI. Forward also moved better on the platforms, Shiz's movements were a bit predictable.

In general I find the better Falco dittoer generally plays the better Falco, because they know how to use all of their options. Falco can defend himself well against all of his own techs, so it's good to be on top of this matchup.

Yup, I'd say the first big step is shine out of shield. It really improved my falco ditto game a lot when I learned it.

I'll check that again later, however I don't think Shiz missed DI, expecially 3 times in a row. It's more probable that he didn't want to DI off stage, as he would get spiked as a consequence.

that's right, there only are a few situations in which Usmash turns to be better, but one of them is the spacing away Falco. Some of the smarter Falcos try to space away their aerials when pillaring. By doing so they can have you miss shield shining or shield grabbing however they also L-cancel/fastfall worse then usual. As a result you have enough time to use Usmash and they're going to get hit because fo the higher range. Look for example at 2:07 of this video:

Falco dittos are a pain for me, cuz whoever wins the starting SHL usually gets the first stock (if both are equally skilled) cuz you are pressed to the edge and its basically over for falco when it comes to recovery against a pretty strong edgeguarder like a falco ditto
