I play a strong Mario. Though I generally use Samus, I'm considering using him in teams due to his more team-oriented play-style. My teammate always uses Falco, so I'd like to do my best at his side. What do you guys think? Viable or not viable?

Anything can be viable as long as you can get it to work. Mario is one of those characters that has a lot of potential, both in singles and doubles. He's not really a better character in doubles when compared to singles, or vice versa, but if you can use him in doubles comfortably, then go ahead.

Thing is, considering you say you play Samus, you could be studying what Plup does in doubles, as he places high with hbox. Personally, I haven't really watched a decent Mario play in doubles, and i haven't played many serious doubles matches myself as a Mario main, but if you can make it work then go ahead.

Yeah, I would say just go with whatever sounds more fun to you. You could probably get either to work.

Samus is just a very difficult doubles player to use, and it's made even worse when your teammate is a Falco. I myself play a Samus, Bowser, Mario, and Falco. Mario is likely my best bet seeing as how poorly Falco-Falco and Samus-Falco have been going. I'd really prefer the balance that Mario grants.

Go for Mario then!

If you find yourself not enjoying it though, you can always go back to Samus
