i need some opinions, against taller characters like ike and marth etc it is possible to run up them and do a full hop rising fair and hit the their heads and then do aerial DI to either retreat or retreat then return for another fair or move behind them and do a bair

not sure if this is useful, was just getting tired of getting shield grabbed and thought this might help

well when they shield the first fair, you can continue the momentum and go behind them to follow up with a bair which they can't grab if they are still facing the front, most likely i'm hoping that their muscle memory will cause them to try to shield grab the first fair as it hits their shield which leaves them open afterwards

edit: also, if you hit them with a fair on their back, they automatically turn around to face the direction the fair hit them which you can then follow up with a bair behind them then combo into ftilts (at low %)

Huh, I never thought about this. It seems to me if the rising fair goes faster than the shield-grab happens, the combo would be viable, but like you said, only against taller characters. Have you tested it?

yeah, but sadly it seems if you are close enough to do the rising fair at low %'s, you can also do a rising fair sh to land behind them as well

also at higher percentages, you can actually chain a rising FH fair to another fair

I can't see why this wouldn't work as a full hop raising Nair can hit even the shortest of characters so a raising fair I would imagine would work the same.

i use the fair instead of a nair so i can get the additional knockback, also the nair also works better than the bair for the second hit because it has less lag on landing and less knockback

edit: also since the fair doesnt stay out as long, its easier to retreat with a backward Di and do a retreating fair afterwards

nair has more knockback than fair on the opening frames. A lot more.

I'm pretty sure ankoku is right about nair, fair has great knockback throughout its animation as opposed to nair's significant drop throughout, but seeing if you're hitting them on the rise of a FH, if you're looking for knockback, nair would probably be better, even with its duration.
