Experiencing Pain

Since I haven't really been able to find anyone to play on a regular basis down here, I've been working on combos and general techskill/movement stuff. I'd say I'm only putting in about 30-45 minutes into it every day.

Within the last couple of days, I've had some wrist pain in my right hand. Has this ever happened to anyone?
My hands are pretty huge, so when I started playing online with a 64 controller it was kinda uncomfortable. I hadn't used a 64 controller in like 12 years, so I hadn't realized that they weren't actually very big. No problems with that until now, though.

I'm not going to practice for a few days to see if smash is the problem, but if anyone's had similar problems, let me know.

It hasn't happened to me with n64 controllers, but I remember my thumb hurting after snaking for hours in Mario Kart DS. All I can say is try relaxing it, anytime it feels tense. Also see if the way you hold or press buttons is uncomfortable. I've had fingers hurt because of the way I held the controller or the way I pressed buttons, but I never felt wrist pain before from using a controller. I'd say keyboard is more likely to give you wrist pain.

my thumb used to get blisters when I used to first play a lot, but that stopped when my thumb got used to it/I didn't mash as much.

your situation sounds a little different though. it could be like 'building your piano muscles', I guess. unless it is like the actual bone that is sore, which is a totally different story.

also, I've found that even a half hour of straight tech stuff can be a little demanding so I tend to take breaks and beat up a cpu or two in the middle of practicing.

Yeah. Maybe I just need a break. I'll try to record my hand while practicing to see if I'm doing something weird, but not smash for me for a bit

Actually, when you eat fish (or chicken or w/e) you're only consuming the amino acids so that your body can produce protein. Humans can only use 20 types of amino acids regardless of what they eat, so "fish protein" doesn't make any sense lol.

Stop ****ing around and make more keyboard adapters yo

Funny you make this thread because I was just thinking my shoulder only started hurting after starting to use a n64 controller again. Probably because of the position I sit back in while playing lol. As far as what I'm readin though sounds like you're just gettin used to using a less traditional controller, as anyone without bias will tell you, the 64 controller is horribly designed.

Shut your ****ing mouth the n64 controller is the best design OF ALL TIME!!!!!

Seriously though with the exception of joysticks breaking too easily I've always preferred the way the n64 controller fits my hands better than other controllers long before I ever got super into video games.

Yeah console tournaments/smashfests always hurt my hands. I would say take a few days break.

dayum lol

I actually hate the n64 controller design but never thought it was uncomfortable. GC controller has always been best, but I don't really like Melee =(

My hands hurt after playing melee all day, and only my index fingers for some reason.

They've never hurt playing 64 though.

Probably cause of the L and R buttons. Same happens to me after a day of F-Zero GX
