Vintage Creep
Smash Master
Another one, this I like too much to wait to post it.
Event N.51 – Every Puzzle Has An Answer (co-op required)
A treasure has been stolen! There are three suspects.Your assistant, Luke Triton, will have to help you dig hints to find the right culprit on the GamePad.
Playable: Player 1 plays Professor Layton, Player 2 uses the GamePad
Vs: three random characters out of the full roster
Stage: Azran Shrine
Game mode: one-stock
Notes: this is a very complicated event. Of the three enemies to defeat, only one will give you victory, the other two will bring failure. To find who you have to kill, player 2 will have to touch around the stage on the GamePad, searching for hints. This won't affect the match, but sometimes, if he touches in the right place, a hint coin will pop up. There are a total of five hint coins hidden in the level, and each of them suggest who is the guilty fella. Let's say for example Mario stole the treasure: in that case, the first coin will be vague and useless and say “The thief is one of the enemies!”, the third coin would say “The thief is male!”, the last coin would say “The thief wears a red hat!”. Obviously you could just kill one random enemy and if you're lucky you'll win, but what's the fun in that? Also, you'll have to trust your assistant. He could direct you to the wrong culprit!
Unlockable: Azran Shrine
I'm having way too much fun making these to be honest. I'm replaying the Melee and Brawl events to find inspiration, but damn, 90% of them are so boring and derivative. Basically they're just thematic matches which is OK sometimes, but becomes repetitive after a while. You could simply recreate them in the versus mode. I'd like the new events to be more minigame-like, or to offer actual unique battles. Maybe some of my ideas wouldn't work though, since they would be too far away from the core gameplay, but I think that Sakurai could pull it off.
