ok i live in europe, (England to be precise) and whenever i try to use wifi the matches either never find anyone or are super laggy. ive checked my connection and it seems to be running fine. my laptop works fine so what could it be? there arent really any tournaments in england and no one i know really plays it so what should i do?

It may be the other people who are making you lag. But long distance matches in general are very laggy. Also from what I know Europe has a pretty strong Smash scene. Go to your regional boards.
