Environmental Hazards

Something I have always wanted for Brawl was the option to turn off Environmental Hazards in the match settings screen. Such as arwing's lasers on Corneria, the clap traps in Kongo Jungle and Jungle Japes, maybe even the river in Japes, even the wind in Dreamland 64.

Does anyone know anything about whether this option is available or not?

I would bank on it not being likely, since Sakurai is ****ing ******** and doesn't think to put things into games that are actually great.

Anything at all on this? Opinions?

Right behind you with a knife.
Make your own stage then that looks like what you want. It defeats the purpose to just remove the hazards, especially now with stage builder. Plus it's impossible in some cases to remove the stuff.

Are... what? The option is available? Or are you just saying you wish there was one?

Cause I'll agree with that even though I never play with item;, unless I'm messing around, which is rare. But I know that those are pretty gay and random, but then again; so are items in the first place, such is the reason they're banned in tournament and are rightfully banned.

EDIT: @ Pieman > How so? It's definitely NOT impossible to program the game to have that option.

I SHOULD BE LUCKY makes no sense. Please, think about what you're saying before you say it. Your grammar and choice of words is god-awful.

And really, I'd be fine without Brawl, I personally don't care. I'll probably end up preferring Melee anyways... so your point has been neutralized.

Anyways... how do people feel about ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS (a.k.a. The Topic)?

I hear the flames sparking after that last post...

But anyway, I don't think it matters. We have a Stage builder now, so I'm good with or without the option.

Exactly. We've already seen with countless videos on how versatile the stage builder is. If you want New Pork City without the Chimera, just make it in the stage builder!

By the way I don't really care who your referring to with the statement, but calling anyone a ****inig ****** makes the majority of what you say invalid either way.

The only thing I see wrong with the option is probably how the hazards are coded into the stage probably differently then items or such.

Well first things first: Opinions can never be wrong. And me calling him a ****** was an exaggeration.

Now, couldn't they just flag the environmental effects and code a script the sets a true/false value for the flagged objects? The true/false value would be changed by the player, under the options menu, true indicating that the effects or the flagged objects are present, false indicating they are not.

The thing about the hazards is that they are all avoidable. They come out in the same way every time, or at least in 1 of several ways.

They aren't completely random and through good strategy can be predicted and avoided.

That's part of the skill and fun of these games.
