Hello, everyone. Yuna here with another peek into my boring life. I'll just pretend you guys care and spare you the trouble. ^_^
The con has come and gone, and I'm spending one more day here with my sister so she and I can...bond or something, I dunno. We'll probably play lots and lots of Melee because Brawl sucks.
The con was very, very fun. I met a lot of really interesting people, and bought...nunchaku, for whatever reason. I guess I'll have to learn to use them now. Hooray. I also got a copy of a game my roommate likes, and I'll be bringing it home to her. I've never played Soul Blade myself, but it seems alright. I hated Soulcalibur III and IV, but Soulcalibur II is one of my favorite fighters of all time. OF ALL TIME!!!!!
I'm very excited to come back home to Atlanta and continue my Melee training regimen. Tekken 6 comes out soon, too, and when it does, my beautiful Leo will be mine, all mine! I love you, Leo!

Cool! I loved SC2 but I had no one to play it with. I used Talim and her only. You? Describe more of this "con" for me at least lol

SC2 for GC was the best fighter on GC cause I could play it, and what's her name was real hot... uh... >< brain fart. the greek one that isn't the original greek one... uh oh! she used to say, oh yeah Cassandra! I used to reck with her until i started using mitsurugi again (I did play Soul Edge) w/the damascus and it wasn't even a contest after that, lol

Mitsurugi with the Damascus Sword in SC II is ********. 4-5 hits max for him to kill you. It would be a challenge for him to hit more than 10 times. But SC II is a great game, especially on the GC. I've played SC II on the GC, SC III on the PS2, and SC IV on a 360, and I find the GC controller the most comfortable and sensible for the game. But any game that has Link guest spotting in it is guaranteed to be excellent. I just wish Kilik were better in II.

I liked Maxi in SCII because all the newbies used him and thought they were good if they spammed buttons.

However, he probably has the most depth to him, and the ability to flow in and out of stances in a controlled manner made me feel really accomplished.

Maxi @ Fuzoroi kthbai.

I played the game on the PlayStation 2 and mostly played Talim, but Heihachi was fun as hell. Link was a worthless gimmick character full of idiotic fanservice moves that all sucked. I hate The Legend of Zelda.

I don't see how Link was anymore of a gimmick then the other 2 version exclusives. Well, maybe not so much heihachi. Also, Idiotic fanservice moves? Were else were they going to get his moves from other then his games? I don't play a lot tekken but I would think Heihachi had some similar moves to his tekken game.

Anyway, I loved playing as link even though he sucked. His moves were just fun to mess around with.

I freaking LOVED SC2. Never got into it competitively though. I started off using Nightmare as an absolute nub, because I thought his dash vertical (that one where he'd spin around and slam his sword on the ground) was amazing. After a few years of playing it I decided that I wanted a change of character scenery (I also thought he was limiting my ability to get better at the game...), so I picked up Xianghua. Since then, I've never contemplated switching characters and have used her in each SC game from there on out.

Although I did just find out that Xianghua is top tier in SC2...which I kinda think it's funny how that worked out just from me liking her as a character. :p

Heh.

For the first time I've looked at the SCII tier list, and Talim's generally agreed to be close to the bottom...but she's really effective in 1-Player, for some reason. Or maybe I just suck at real fighting games and the only way I can win is by button-spamming, and she's good at that.

I think the closest character of mine to becoming a singular main would be Nightmare...but I use Link, Nightmare, Kilik, and occasionally Cervantes and Yunsung. Astaroth is a rarer character of mine, I use Ivy on occasion just because her combos are really fun, and Talim if I feel like being cheap and button spamming.

I've never played the game competitively, which is probably good seeing as my best characters are all apparently sucky in tier.

There's nothing like using the paddle with Nightmare, though. Epic mindgames.

Cervantes is amazing in SCII.

Not a pick up and play character though, but then again, SCII isn't a pick up and play game.
