Hey there, I'm holding a tournament at my community college for these four games. If you're interested, come on down next saturday. The school's address is:
1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez Ave.
Monterey Park, CA 91754

For more information, head to our club's blog at http://gaknews.blogspot.com. The rules for all the game should be there. I'm not too familiar with Smash Brothers, so if anyone is interested at all in this, please tell me of any changes I should make and why. Oh, and pricing is as follows:
GGXXAC: $2
SSBM: $2
3s: $5
Marvel: $5
And if you enter any game, just add in a one dollar donation to the club.

All the games are going to be run simultaneously, so Melee starts the same time as every other game (unless a game is waiting for a few more entrants or something).

Well, the rules that I think you're concerned with are the lowered time limit and the single match game format as opposed to the 2/3 format. But that's really because we have time constraints (Smash brothers can run for a loooong time and we only have the room for 4-5 hours). But I guess these rules can change if, pending the situation we'll have at hand, we'll be able to execute them under the time limit. Oh,and losers and grand finals are both 2/3.
Prizes: 70-20-10 (of pot)

Well, there's nothing "forcing" the tournament to run till six, but I believe that is the time limit we have. Supposedly, that's when we need to get out of the room, so we really should finish the tournament before then. AKA it's possible for hte tournament to finish at 4 if there's less participants, or 7 if we have too **** many (hope not).

I thought there was something pressing this weekend. But I guess not, so 99 percent I'll be going here.

Are there places to eat nearby?

Well, there's like one shopping plaza a block or two away with a Subway, IHOP, Carl's Jr, some random stuff like that. But don't expect too much, I guess; this is a community college that's on the border of a nice, suburban town and the more urban area of LA.

wow the only tournament this weekend is a single game 5minute match one
for $2
well actually i dont mind the 2$ part cuz that means more in MM...but due to time constraints its looks like there wont even be Money matches

i dont mean to sound like an *** (ive been watching the office too much cuz "thats what she said" just popped into my head) but if the rules aren't changed to proper formatting i seriously think the community should get together and throw something. id step up but finding a place to hold it such late notice would probably take some initiative (aka entree fee to pay for the hassle to whoever lets us hold it) and i know alex gonna ***** about it and grim me on money some how so hopefully someone can step up with a venue and i'll bring a complete set-up in return

The TO is asking for more TVs and GCs. There's only going to be ONE TELEVISION for this tournament, the main reason why the rules are what they are now.

Because of that, I don't know if I'm coming to this.

posted from SRK:
"if it is raining lightly, we'll still hold the tournament. Basically, if you can walk through it, no problem, and there is only a bit of rain on you, then we'll still hold the tournament. If you're bringing setups in that weather, just have like a garbage bag to shield it against the rain in. However, if it is raining heavily, ie. you need to run from your house door to your car door to not be bombarded with rain, then I'm going to cancel, because it'll be too hard to carry equipment in that weather and most people have already told me that it'd be hard to come if it was raining that hard. So, I guess you'll just have to use your own discretion. If you want a final confirmation, IM me anytime before 10:30 tomorrow morning to double check."
