Egg Glitch?

One time when I was in Corneria facing off against Falco, Link, and Samus, I went below the edge on the mideastern side of the board, and I threw an egg. When it connected, it seemed to have struck multiple times. When it collided with Samus, it seemed to have triggered a fireworks effect and when Falco and Link went next to her, they recieved damage too and were juggled in midair. Falco recieved 31%, Link recieved 27%, and Samus recieved 42% from one egg, seriously. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
