Edgehogging techniques

Just a couple of edgehogging techniques depending on location. I can describe it in relation to Final D's floor design. There is a diamond-like shape in the middle, and if you are at the corner of that, and hit forward b with no charge, you will grab the edge. Also, if you are on the second arrow (furthest from the edge), you can do an upb, make it go out off the stage and have the second one come back and a LITTLE bit downwards. If you don't do it enough, you will come back onto the stage. And if you do it too much, you will go below the stage and die. So if you wish to execute this in a match i suggest you practice it. A lot. The first one is easier but slower, while you can do it further from the edge. And of course, you can always renew your invincibility frames by tapping down from the edge and immediately doing an upb. Thanks.

So your saying tapping up from the edge gives you additional invincibility frames aside from initially grabbing the ledge? Or are you saying, while holding the ledge, quickly press up to use the invincibility frames from when you first grabbed the ledge to get up on the stage safely?

He says tap down and quickly regrab the edge to get new invincibility frames
Alright I thought he meant something else.. Since this method works for and against every char.

yeah i know that. that wasn't the main part. The main idea was getting to the edge quickly.

I just normally use the plain old run off the edge and grab technique or jump off and thunder.
Yeah, this is what usually works for me as well. I don't like to get too fancy with edgehogging, because well... let's just say that this is the score FD Ledge 1000000, Me 2. I hate that **** ledge...

hang on the edge, jump then immediately use thunder. it should hit you and you should grab the ledge. eventually you can go pretty far down and recover if you get good at it.

no seriously. i use it all the time. you can get about halfway down the FD stage and use the thunder and recover, its great for for people who recover vertically.

true. but what if they go above you...like yoshi or another pikachu. this can successfully hurt them and stop them from getting past you.
