Edgeguarding Sheik

Why do top level players still screw up when they try to edgeguard Sheik? I can't tell you how many times I just see good pleyers get off the ledge prematurely and let the Sheik get back for free. It's very simple to just stay on the ledge, because landing on stage is laggy enough to punish on reaction. You can even condition them to land on stage and get an even bigger punish, though that wouldn't work against Mew2King most likely. So I want to know, why is this still a problem in 2015?

The fear of dying if you get up too late.
Platform/distance mixup.
the need to avoid amsah techs.

It's better to be too early and keep positional advantage than being late and dying.

People are also sometimes scared of getting hit by the explosion and get hit prematurely.
