I have been reading the Ganondorf section of the boards but I have not seen a lot of attention to Ganon's edge game. I think it would be helpful if people who know what they are talking about(not me) give some advise on

1) What to do when Ganon is on the ledge to get back on the stage.

and

2) What is the best way for Ganon to edge guard.

If you have any advise, thank you.

I'm still working on 1 myself, but for 2, the answer it seems, contrary to intuition, is to leap after your opponent and dair. Ganon can still cover some good vertical distance with double jump + Dark Dive.

If you're good enough, I've seen this work in many a tense match.

I guess if you're gonna ledge guard, the other guy has to feel what's at stake. I stick to tipmans to play it safe (except when it's a riskless dair just next to the lip, obv.), but I think you have to get that dair to turn your Ganon game pro.

2) You can also do tipman>DJ dair, tipman>tipman etc. I've been working on tipman>Dark Dive for a flashier edge guard against characters with not great recoveries :p. Stomp is always fine, but a lot of smart people aren't going to come directly from under the ledge against Ganon, and if they do, a lot of characters recoveries are fast enough so they can cut through you before stomp comes out. Tipman has more range and screws a lot of people up as well as leading to DJed stomps, b-airs and moar tipman. Also, a f-air right off the edge is always nice.

1) As for getting on the edge with Ganon, he has a little trouble due not only to the lag of his aerials and low edge hop, but also because he suffers landing lag after grabbing the ledge with Dark Dive/Gerudo. Ledge jump into Wizkick is always fun for starting Ganons but its gunna get predictable and extremely punishable really very quickly. You also have ledge jump into Gerudo which is a nice tactic but be careful of spacing.

His ledge attack under 100% is really nice. It has crazy range, can poke under shields, and looks like it has a f*cking disjointed hitbox (I've seen it hit people even when Ganon's fist stops like half a character length away). It's also decently fast, and when it connects up close, it puts them over the ledge for edge guard.

You can ledge hop all of Ganon's aerials except n-air. But like I said before, his aerials have very bad lag, so use them only when you think they aren't going to shield. He can also airdodge after ledge hop straight into a standing position on the ledge, which is really nice. But be careful because if you grabbed the ledge with UpB or Gerudo you're going to get a delay.

Hope some of that helped.

for getting up, edgehop u-airs under the stage followed by dark dive or ledgehop aerials, or even ledge attack.

for guarding, I generally either tipman or d-air depending on the angle. F-tilt works for horizontal kos off the stage also.

All of these are good suggestions. I recently have been throwing in something else to reverse the edge dynamic. If you tap R on the ledge to roll up and then roll away from the ledge a second time, your spacing from the ledge is perfect to do a down B and have it lag cancel immediately when you slide over the edge. When an opponent is certain distances from the ledge while I'm hanging, it's R up from the ledge, roll again to get spacing right and face the opponent between you and the ledge, down B, then after the lag cancels, Uair, or dair. It's a really quick way to switch who's in the dominant position on the ledge, and can often catch people off guard for quick dair spikes or for edge guard KOs.

one of my favorite ways to get back up is to start a full jump and interrupt it with a side b when you're just over the ledge. This can surprise your opponent, and make them stay further away from the ledge when edgeguarding later in the game
