Previously on the Brawl Boxart Saga, we took a look at a pretty authentic-looking boxart cover for Brawl, and since then a few additional retailers have picked up on a higher resolution version of the boxart compared to what we first saw. Among the retailers sporting the new art (warning: newcomers are here) is Amazon.com, which, at least in my book, lends the thing some pretty solid credibility. That doesn’t mean it’s final, but it is very probably authentic.
Another retailer to carry the boxart is EBGames(/Gamestop), but their version features a notable alteration: the addition of a Wi-Fi symbol to the front. Does this confirm online play for Brawl? I wouldn’t count on it—to me, it seems far too easy for someone at EB to just slap that on the image. You’ll note that the page says nothing at all about going online, so it’s not as if they’re calling attention to it. Plus, the placement of the Wi-Fi symbol looks kind of strange to me, and the rest of the box appears identical to what we’ve already seen.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that Brawl won’t be online—just that, maybe, you should take this with a fairly large grain of salt, at least for the time being. A picture of the boxart as it appears on EBGames’ site is after the jump.
On a (somewhat) related note, it seems that Prima’s Brawl guide won’t be coming out in early November as had been promised; Prima now claims the guide will have a release date of December 3rd. Perhaps the number of pages is just an estimate, then, or is somehow set in stone due to some (admittedly curious) aspect of production.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s kind of weird how the Wi-Fi symbol is covering up Pit? I think it could be less in the way a little bit lower and over toward the edge, and it’s not like the placement of the Wi-Fi symbol is entirely standard or set in stone.
