Feel free to make a new thread whenever we have established a good meta.
Let's discuss what we think our main's ranking are in regards to matchups and speculate a Tier placement for them.
My estimated Tier ranking for Diddy: Lower Top Tier
Reasoning: Diddy does reasonably well against the Fire Emblem Top Tier characters. He can combo them well, and pull them out of their rhytym with his bananas and it's way easier to land grabs on them, because Diddy's movement allows for punishments with bananas easily. He also does okay vs the Inklings, and most other Top Tier contenders. He absolutely destroys the likes of Bayonetta (far less impressive), the Belmonts, Zero Suit Samus, most heavies, and goes well against Mewtwo, Snake and the Street Fighter bois. He always did good vs Peach, Captain Falcon and Meta Knight and goes at the least even against Cloud, Pikachu, Sonic, Ness and Shulk.
What keeps him down: To be honest, the fact that top players won't really touch him. He also has bonky matchups against zoners, the Mario Bros. and their medic, Wario, Yoshi, Olimar, Falco and Wolf (Fox is much easier to deal with).
