If they said there was a Smash 4 demo available at Best Buy right now you know you would be down there tryin' to play no matter how bad the service is.
Only one Wii U + 7 minutes to play + huge line + event only lasts for 2 hours = disappointment

If Nintendo is willing to release demos for upcoming titles on the eShop, it should really consider adding demos from E3 onto the eShop as well. That would really make the people who are less fortunate be very grateful.

Sakurai should also accept feedback on the demos if they were put into eShop, allowing players to share thoughts on the demo.

I doubt they'll be out any sooner than E3, so I think a demo in some capacity can be expected. Now... as much as I would want the demos to go to Best Buy like they did this year, I doubt I'd get to enjoy it. Barely managed to get in on the action this year and I'm sure Smash would draw a much larger crowd.

Why exactly did Nintendo partner with Best Buy? Would putting the demos on the eShop be that big of an issue?

I live in the middle of nowhere so a Best Buy isn't even within a 50-mile radius. I hope they put it on the eShop.

I'm guessing it was just a way to generate the same type of hype that E3 delivers, but to the largest amount of people possible? I don't see why they couldn't ALSO put demo's up on the eShop, but I don't think it's a bad idea to have a local event like that either.

I think part of the reason is because the company doesn't want to display upcoming games outside of trailers or Nintendo Directs.

Even if they partner with Best Buy, people who aren't even in the US won't be able to participate in that at all unless they go on an expensive flight just to get like, what, 10 minutes of Smash time? I missed out on it too because I live in Europe. If they do release demos in some form, I do hope they will do so on the eShop. Even if it's only on either system, I'd be totally fine with it.

If it does happen, don't believe everything people say they saw. Remember when we thought Duster and Muddy Mole were assist trophies? Or that tripping was a new advanced mechanic (*desperately holds in laughter*)

Luckily in my home town, nobody is more keen on playing this stuff then me and my friends. I'd looove for this to be a reality.
