Dual Maining Falcon and Pikachu

Hey guys, I am currently a falcon main and was looking to pick up another character. (I know that having more than one main isnt always best but hear me out)

I picked Pikachu because although he doesnt have an even match up with spacies, i feel like it is considerably better than Falcons, also because i have a lot of fun playing the character.

If I was to dual main/ have pikachu as a secondary, what characters would be my biggest problem for both? And would this at all be a wise decision?

Your main problem matchup would be Sheik

But do whatever comes naturally, playing Pikachu may actually help your improvement in the long run. Just remember to be very dedicated to improvement, and always evaluate, re-evaluate, re-evaluate all decisions you make inside and outside the game. Never stick with a character because you have to, stick to them because you want to.

I think you should play what you want. Sheik is pretty dangerous, but it's something you can learn. A good Sheik is dangerous to both my characters (Marth and Falco) so I learned options that I have on her that make fighting her easier.

Agreed. I'm Falcon with a Roy secondary, and the Roy VS Shiek MU is 10-90.

Bruh all the Sheiks I know are just chaingrabbers on my Marth. Dash attack is so frustrating. Fortunately, I learned shieldgrabbing and uthrow followups.

So I am going to start playing pikachu because i have fun with him and to deal with spacies. And im also going to have to try and get good at the sheik match-up for both of them

Sheik has really advantageous matchups against a ton of characters in Melee, and she basically dictates the entire tier list moreso than any other single character. However, with dedication, both Falcon and Pika can win the matchup. The biggest issue is that Sheik's punishes on both of those characters are pretty free, so you REALLY want to learn how to DI vs Sheik. This is coming form a Marth main, who Sheik can really trash if Marth's DI is poor. My advice besides practice DI is to keep Sheik up in the air. She wants to control the ground as much as possible, so don't give it to her, and make her punishes as hard as possible.
