DSmash applications?

Sheik's down smash seems to be a worse version of her up smash, so when would I use it? The only advantage I can think of is that it comes out quickly, so maybe in conjunction with a perfect pivot?

I hate the idea of just never using one of her attacks.

I sometimes use it for punishing rolls like i do with most D-Smashes

DSmash is not that good. It is a lot slower than in previous games and its only real application is to punish a roll.
Sheik's USmash however has a sweet spot that can kill really really early. Have fun hitting it though.
