Dropping items out of Jiggs U-Throw

So I was playing vs a puff with my peach and pulled a bob-omb. I was upthrown just below a YS platform and right as I get thrown, the bomb explodes on the plat and I die and he doesn't. Can you Z drop items during her Uthrow? I thought you were in hitstun the whole time

When you get hit there's a chance for the item you're holding to drop. Otherwise you cannot manually drop in hitstun.
