Drexel University Weeklies: Is Anyone Interested??

Following the success of such weekly tourneys like those at Rutgers and down at UMBC or something, I'm considering setting up a tournament series at Drexel University (university city in philadelphia pa, right next to any SPOC tourney or CoT II). Now that I'm in classes (not work), I have the time to run them. They would be on Fridays, probably sometime around 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Would anyone be interested in these? We could do something like alternate between between Brawl and Melee each week. If some people show some interest in this, I'll go ahead and work everything out. They probably wouldn't be that big, unless a good amount of people show a lot of interest in one specific week, I can look into extending the time and getting more TVs.

Depending on the day and whether it's Brawl or Melee, I'd go. I won't go if it's Brawl.

dude host melee/brawl tourneys instead of just having one or the other, obvious correct choice, ESPECIALLY for someone of the NJ/PA region.

i will at all bigger tourneys. these weeklies (maybe biweeklies) will pretty much be in the game room with no official planning through drexel, and can only last 3-4 hours. the bigger tournaments my crew hosts, Clash of the Titans, are brawl and melee. First one will be Brawl singles and doubles, and melee singles (regular full kind with pools and all that nice stuff).

for CoT we have the luxury of WAY more TVs, WAY more time, and more space. these weeklies would be more of a small thing.

only prob is, i go home some weekends for things or something. there are chances some weeks might not happen (i will tell ppl in advance though), although perhaps i can find ppl that can run it if im not there. if its melee based and im not there, maybe scar could run it?

$5 weeklies would be too good. MELEE ONLY! No one local will come for Brawl, and also no one will travel for Brawl besides DMB, who would probably make anyone who could beat him split for 1st place money.

theres no denying though that theres a nice brawl presence around drexel. obviously melee is too awesome which is why that needs to be there, and as much as i want both every weekly, it cant happen, so the only fair way is to alternate. i do want brawl singles though, but ppl want doubled, so il have to think of what to do there.

perhaps doing brawl will also help get all the new smash players in drexel active and perhaps getting them to enter in a bigger tourney in the area like SPOC or CoT. i could see some ppl traveling for brawl or melee such as like, eggm goes to ur place sometimes. well on the way, he stops at a weekly lol.
