DreamHack first began when two teenagers rented out their school cafeteria to host a weekend of coding and hacking with a few friends. Since then, DreamHack has blossomed into the world's largest digital festival, with over 56,000 attendants.
This tournament marks DreamHack Winter 2016 as the fifth DreamHack event to host Melee, and boasts the largest prize pool of all the events, boasting a $30,000 pot for singles. The event will be held at Elmia Exhibition and Convention Center, in Jönköping Sweden, which has hosted the event since Winter, 2001.
The event will take up the whole convention center to allow ample space for its LAN parties, e-Sports tournaments, live music, cosplay competition, and many other other attractions. Naturally, the event will have wi-fi, and attendees are allowed to bring their own consoles, computers, and even chairs.
As of right now, you must purchase either an event pass or a BYOC ticket to DreamHack Winter 2016 from their website to be eligible to enter the tournament. Signups for the tournament can be found here
