Smash Wii U Downloading the New Patch

Hi, I've been attempting to download the new patch so I can get Bayonetta and Corrin, but my Wii U doesn't have enough internal storage to download it. I tried moving everything off and onto a hard drive except Smash (it can't move as it is "downloading an update") and there is still not enough space. As I just said, I can't move it out of internal storage, so I can't download it on my hard drive. I also tried deleting all replays and miis, but that did not clear enough space. Is there anything I can do to get the update?

EDIT: I found a solution. I can delete the update I downloaded when the system turned on, move it to the hard drive, and then download.
