This is probably a dumb question that I'm over thinking, but I don't have immediate access to my Wii at the moment and I kind of want to learn this before I play again. Sorry if this has already been asked, but the Search function isn't working at all for me right now and even if it did, I wouldn't really know what to search.

Anyway, when I use ZSS's down special and do the kick afterwards, I always kick in the opposite direction of her jump. I thought this was what was supposed to occur, as I saw that in videos as well. However, I saw her kick forward every time in this video:

This might be a very simple problem, such as maybe I have to hold the direction of the kick I want to perform, or it varies depending on whether I press A or B (I always press B, so that could be it). I can't play today, so I can't experiment, which is why I'm here asking such a strange question, but I'd really like an answer. Thanks in advance.

Hold in the direction you want to kick.

If you move the stcik fast enough, you can also Flip in the direction you move it.

Oh, see, I knew it had to be something simple. Thanks a whole bunch.
You can jump in a certain direction? That rocks! Looks like my list of things to practice just grew. Thanks again. :)

There are a few threads and posts popping up about this. When you press down-B, you can choose which direction you go based on if you move the control stick left or right quickly. Same goes for when you do the attack-move: you can do it left or right, depending which way you're holding the control stick. The directions are independent (you can jump left or right, and attack left or right).

In a related note, you can wall-jump from her down-B, which keeps it going (not a standard wall-jump - just restarts the down-B animation from and away from the wall).
