Down-B as an edgeguard tool

I thought I'd make this thread to discuss the uses Counter has as an edgeguard. If for some reason a F-air wouldn't work, Counter could be the solution. It seems to be useful in some situations against Fox and Falco, e.g. if you run out of ledge invincibility while they're below you. I also find it useful for deflecting Ness/Lucas recovery if there's not enough time to jump out and hit them beforehand.

Thoughts or ideas about this move?

counter is a risky move and only should be performed if your positive if you'll hit them like this is a good example of what to do because they cant fake you out if their main purpose is to get back to the ledge and survive.

Better recovery's to do this to are DK's, Link, Tink, MK's SideB, Bowser.

Oh and OP...

doing this to Ness/Lucas is risky as fuhhh. Why would you bother doing that? If you've got them using their UpB they're already in a bad position. You can PROBABLY get them in that same position, but this time swat them away with an aerial.

Uhh.... counter to **** up ness/lucas is staple ITS WHY WE **** THEM MORE THAN JUST THE GRAB RELEASE GUYS.

Marth's counter gains power by the percent of damage of the move it counters... PKT2 for both chars is like over 20%? IT takes time to get used to though. A player like FOW will stall his up b as long as possible; but that only left him open to invincible dolphin slash love...

Also, is this Cobalt, or the REAL AMERICAN GUY?

Ledge drop bair is better against most characters, especially donkey kong.
