Down air trip

Does anyone know how the trip on Bowser Jr's down air works? And if you can combo it into up smash?

I think it acts sort of like Kirby's D-Tilt where it can occasionally cause a trip, BJ's seems a little more random though since it appears that it depends on which hit you land and when you land it. As for comboing into U-Smash, well, that doesn't seem possible. When the trip is happens to just happen the D-Air will not auto-cancel since they are invincible for a very brief period after the hit connects giving them optimal time to roll away.

It actually depends on your opponents DI, if they hold down. You can jab lock 3 times and the land a charged smash.
Ahhh I see. But what hit or hits causes the trip?

Side b into whatever/ up b into hammer are the optimal punishes at the %s wheretripping is actually bound to happen :)
