Hi guys. I kind of have a weird problem that I hope you guys here at smashboards can help me out with.
So when i do combos with Marth or when my opponent is off the stage and i try to use a down air to spike, i always end up fast falling as im down airing and i see lag that i cant get out of the animation and i end up SDIng. Does anyone know what im doing wrong or even what im talking about? And tips would be helpful. Thanks

C-sticking is probably the best way to avoid this, but you can still avoid it while using A. If you're jumping right before you dair, hold down while you're still rising. That way you can just hit A and you won't fastfall. The better way which you should learn anyway is to just tilt your stick a little bit like you're trying to tilt someone.

Thanks for the tip. I've started using the c-stick for aerials now. I also think that part of my problem is I try too hard to be flashy all the time and I end up SDing because of it.
