Hi, I am new to Tournament Organizing, and am wondering about double elimination conventions for Smash.

Most notably, is it typical in a Smash tournament for the winner of the loser's final to have to beat the winner of the winner's final twice to win the tournament?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Here's the cliffnotes version, without a picture to show you or anything.

Everybody starts out in the winners bracket. When they lose, they go to the losers bracket. Once they lose from the loesrs bracket, they're done. (That's the double elim.)

In the "Grand Finals" (The Last match of the whole game), yes the loser always has to win 2 sets. Because up to that point, the winner hasnt lost a set. If it were so that the person from losers only to win 1 to win it all, the inverse of that would mean that the person winners will be the only person to drop 1 set and be eliminated.
