I just started messing around trying to do ledgehop single lasers and grabbing back on, when I stumbled upon an easy way to do the Doraki Walljump every try. Is this technique widely known and used? It looks awesome and is quite flashy :p

.... whats the secret?

i practiced it and its quite simple but whoever originally explained it did a horrible job theres a youtube vid and i can get it about 50% of the time, if i practiced i think i could pull it off easy.

simple explanation if i recall correctly is grab the ledge, press away to get off the ledge, grab the ledge again but trying to catch the very bottom, first frame u can grab of it, then press away to get off again and you'll wall jump.

-Drop off after you grab the edge

-Double jump back onto it, but ride the wall this time

-When you wall ride and grab the edge, the game registers you as still wall hugging. At this point, all you have to do is hit away on the control stick and you'll doraki wall jump. This is easiest on FD, or another stage with a flat vertical wall near its edge. (FD's is a really small vertical wall but its still enough)

I'm not sure why, but this doesn't work nearly as well on any of the other neutrals. Its exceedingly easy to perform in that little pathway on Hyrule with Falcon. Grab the edges on either side of that path and you only have to hit away to perform it. Weird.

I can only do it with the double jump like raynex said. I didn't know other characters could do it too!

You don't even have to ride the wall, it's weird sometimes, you can let go of the edge move away and then sweetspot with DJ and still do IWJ. There are also other possibilities like (Shine) Firefox stall or Illusion stall.

I would love to figure out how to do it with the firefox stall. That would be sick. I don't ride the wall when I do it, I just hold towards the stage when I sweetspot.

Just hold towards the stage before and as you sweetspot. So you're hanging on the ledge, push away from the stage, double jump towards the stage, and sweetspot while you are still holding towards the stage. you can then get the walljump whenever you want.
