Though this video is directed to an audience focused on human rationality, I think it's very applicable to what we do in/with Smash: http://youtu.be/ZdrPI7hSfYQ

Don't be a sphex. Don't persist with your gameplay/style blindly. When something seems odd, or doesn't work, sit back and think about what's going on, then proceed logically. Find out what to fix, and fix it. Don't be a sphex.

Don't be a sphex and follow simple rules blindly. If something seems odd, or doesn't work, sit back and think about what's going on, then proceed logically.

There are few real rules. Most "rules" are in fact only "guidelines".
I can't believe I didn't post my reply earlier.

Anyways, while I absolutely agree that in Melee there aren't really 'rules/laws' on how to play, but more so 'guidelines.'
My post was supposed to induce a more adaptive mindset in those who watched the video, in how they play not necessarily on how you should play in general (Am I being clear? It sort of feels like I'm not :/ ).
