Is the Wii capable of reading a Sandisk 2GB SD card? On the SD card menu off of the main system menu it says the device inserted in the SD card slot cannot be used. It says something along the same lines in the brawl vault. but the homebrew channel is able to read the gecko app on the SD card and load the codes on it. wtf? I'm also able to format the card and copy data to and from it. I've tried formatting it with both quick format and long format in both fat and fat32, and even tried deleting the partition on it with a windows installation disk. It's not SDHC, and I've been able to read 256mb and other 2GB sd cards on this wii before. it also does the exact same thing on my friend's wii as well.

It's probably an SDHC. Make sure it isn't. If it is, get a regular SD that isn't High Capacity.

It's probably one of the few SD cards that won't work with the Wii. There are a few SD card models that the Wii won't read.

You may have a SanDisk 2GB as well, but he could have a completely different model of SD card than you.

You probably got a defective or something, I have that same one (I also have it in 512 MB, but that one split into 7 pieces after excessive use) and it works perfectly fine.
