Does Lucas' fsmash have some form of a tipper?

I was playing against a friend who uses Yoshi the other day, and whenever he used the eggroll attack, and I used fsmash, different things happened. When I hit with the tip of Lucas' stick, he took damage, but when I hit closer to Lucas, it just cancelled his attack. Does the egg have more priority than I think, or is there some form of tipper here?

Also, if this is common knowledge, please disregard, as I barely check the Lucas boards, so I don't know things that I probably should.

This:
Your attack's hitbox extends farther from your hurtbox than the opponent's attack does.
which is general for any two attacks. a simple way of saying it is the fsmash has more range than the eggroll... i think that's what it's saying lol

i do know that the tip of his Fsmash has more knockback and sends the opponent at more of an horizontal angle than when the opponent is closer to you.

yeah it does. the effect is definitely stronger towards the end of the bat. im not too sure about the very tip of it though.

The tip of the stick does not do more damage or knockback on the tip than it does anywhere else on the stick.

Ness' bat is the one with the tipper effect.

I do not believe that!

*will do testing later*

edit: I'd like to note that fact that I do not think it does more damage, I just think the knockback is altered in tracjectory.

I fought a friend of mine and as far as i saw the only "tipper" effect i saw was that at the very tip of the stick it sends the enemy straight accross instead of diagonally. Didn't do any more damage though

Maybe that's a difference between certain frames of the attack, and not an actual "sweetspot"?
After attempting to do some testing, it doesn't have a tipper, different from what I had originally believed. :[

Though I couldn't test this theory, which seems a lot more likely.

i thought just the trajectory changed when you hit with the farthest part of the stick.
i don't think it has more knockback
but i'm pretty sure the trajectory changes.

That could be how your opponents DI when hit by the end rather than the middle of the stick. There are a lot of cases of "run away DI" that I can think of.

Lucas's fsmash has broken power for the speed and range you get. Stronger then Ness's bat and a lot faster too. I will label it with my new word: Funderful. They had to give Lucas at least one amazing move.

yeah, with No DI at all the trajectory didn't change.
hmm... oh i learned something. well i'm glad i learned that, because i would always try to hit with the tip of the stick, but now i can just hit the opponent lol

I really don't care, it is Funderful and I <3 it.

I doubt it has anything to do with being stale(maybe its possible)... I think it is like kirbys Fsmash where the closer in the higher they go, and further away the more horizontal they go...

There's no sweetspot. Even if it hits an opponent behind you, the knockback is the same (just in the opposite direction.) Any difference in trajectory I'm pretty sure is just a matter of DI.
