Does anyone try to get into another person's head when watching videos?

Lately, I've been watching videos and trying to "get in a player's head" while doing so. It's actually a bit challenging, but I feel like it could help with some insight into decision making during gameplay. I especially like to take note of when a player gets punished and why. Usually it's because they rushed in with an attack and got punished for it or tried something that was obviously not the best move to use in the situation.

I find myself making many different decisions than the players I watch. Sometimes our decisions match but not too often. The only player whose decisions have matched mine most of the time has been Iori (local player). Maybe that's cause I play with him more often than some other people, but he seems to be one of the safest, best-decision-making players I've watched.

What do you guys think?

Sometimes while watching a match between good players I'll pick one player and think about what my next move would be given their situation. When they do what I would've done it makes me happy. And when they don't, which is most of the time, it makes me think, oh yea, that's why they're better than me.

I'm always doing it :p I think it is a great way to improve your mindgame and to read through your opponent's head. Taking notes about how and why the player is getting punished is always very usefull

Sometimes I hold a controller while watching a vid and simulate playing in another player's shoes. It's a great way to learn certain aspects of decision making.
