Does anybody have any tips for a good WiFi connection?

So I’m here, in the back of my house where WiFi is like the abyss of hell and my Switch can’t pick up the WiFi because it goes through like three rooms and 5 devices before it gets to me. I turn off the WiFi on my devices but no dice.

I’ve read I could get a LAN cable, but since there’s no adapter in my room, I gotta buy something that attached to the wall, but then I gotta buy something for the switch to connect to the lan cable to the wall.

But there lies the stupid GameCube Controllee problem. You’d think upon buy the limited edition SSBU Switch, the console would come with a built in GCC port, but nope. I gotta buy that adapter. And because of the LAN cable, it takes up one USB port, so I just need help before I end up wasting my money. Please?

The GC adapters two USB's are for 2 slots. So one USB for Player 1 and 2 the other one for 3 and 4. At least if I recall. There's boosters you can get like this one that have Gigabit ethernet ports but I've never known boosters to be that great. It something to consider though.

See, that’s good to know, thank you. I didn’t even know both USB only went for half of the adapter smh.

I was looking at that booster before I made the post. Thank you.

Sadly the biggest factor is who you play against, the moment you play against someone with bad internet, it's laggy for everyone. I've had matches where the laggy player dies first, and then the speeds dramatically improve.

To improve your own speeds, try a Ethernet or 5g Wifi router. I'm using a 100mbps Ethernet Adapter for the Switch, and I tested the Internet speed with 2g, 5g, and wired.

• 2g: 25 mbps
• 5g: 55 mbps
• Wired: 88 mbps

And the normal tips apply: The closer it is to the router, the better speeds you get. 5g doesn't perform well through walls, so if it's far away you may only be getting 2g speed.

Wireless controllers have input lag. And competitive players hate input lag.
But if you will already play online... And are you a competitive player to be afraid of having 1 or 2 frames of input lag (if happens)?

Nope. I'm just saying that some people will look down on you for using a wireless controller.

I really will not sacrifice my confort of a wireless controller. It was never a problem for all games I play, and online matches will already have some lag naturally. I also see many pro players in other games using wireless mouses in competitions for example, this is just irrelevant to me.
